      Sentence never sees your browsing history, app content, or Screen Time data. Everything enforced by Screen Time stays on your device, managed by Apple.
    

1. What We Collect

Sentence collects minimal information to function:

Onboarding selections — your chosen distractions, intentions, pain points, and screen time estimate. These are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
Age input — used only to calculate a projection shown during onboarding. It is not stored or transmitted.
Subscription status — managed by RevenueCat. We receive only whether your subscription is active, not any payment details. Your financial information is handled entirely by Apple and RevenueCat.
Anonymous usage analytics — we use PostHog to collect anonymised, non-personal events (e.g. "onboarding screen viewed", "subscription purchased") to understand how the app is used and improve it. No personal identifiers are attached.

2. Screen Time & FamilyControls

Sentence uses Apple's Screen Time framework (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity) to enforce app blocks. This means:

All Screen Time data — which apps are blocked, usage patterns — is processed entirely on your device by Apple's frameworks.
We do not have access to which specific apps you use, your screen time duration, or any activity monitored by Screen Time.
Sentence only reads which app categories you selected during onboarding in order to set up blocking groups.

3. What We Do Not Collect

Any personally identifiable information beyond what you explicitly provide

4. Apple's Privacy Policy

Sentence is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store. Apple's privacy practices and policies take precedence where applicable. By using Sentence, you also agree to Apple's Privacy Policy, which governs data collected by Apple in connection with the App Store, in-app purchases, and the iOS platform itself.

5. Third-Party Services

Sentence uses the following third-party services:

RevenueCat — subscription management. See revenuecat.com/privacy

Apple App Store — handles all payments. See apple.com/legal/privacy

5. Data Retention

Local data (your onboarding selections, app group configuration) is stored in your device's local storage and the app's shared App Group container. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. RevenueCat and PostHog retain anonymised records per their own privacy policies.

6. Children's Privacy

Sentence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By downloading or using Sentence ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Sentence is available exclusively on the Apple App Store. Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement (EULA) and Privacy Policy apply to your use of this App and take precedence over these Terms where there is any conflict. By using Sentence, you confirm you have read and agreed to Apple's EULA.

1. The App

Sentence is an iOS application that uses Apple's Screen Time framework to enforce app-blocking rules. Access to the app requires a subscription ("Sentence Premium"). A 7-day free trial is available for annual plans.

2. Subscriptions & Billing

Subscriptions are managed and billed by Apple through the App Store.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings.
Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions automatically at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand.
All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's media services terms.
Apple's billing terms and App Store policies take precedence over these Terms for all matters related to payment and subscriptions.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to circumvent or disable the App's blocking mechanisms by exploiting system vulnerabilities
Resell, sublicense, or distribute the App or any part of it

4. Screen Time Permission

Sentence requires Screen Time permission to function. Without this permission, app blocking will not work. Granting Screen Time access allows iOS to restrict apps you select — Sentence itself cannot see your activity data, only configure which apps are restricted.

5. No Warranty

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. App blocking depends on Apple's Screen Time infrastructure and may be subject to iOS limitations or changes.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sentence and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or profits.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and assets within Sentence are the property of the developer. The App name, logo, and brand are protected. You may not use them without explicit written permission.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App at any time if these Terms are violated. You may terminate your use at any time by deleting the App and cancelling your subscription.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the effective date above when changes are made.
